I am very into computers and anything outdoors. I like working on web sites when I have the time. I'd be glad to assist anyone getting something of their own up on the web. I also enjoy programming, running, and playing midnight soccer. I live a pretty average college age life. But there is nothing I enjoy more than sitting back and playing songs on my guitar. I'm not really good, but I enjoy it nonetheless.
I currently live in Columbus with two friends who are also at the same Marine Unit as I. Most of my life I lived just north of Chillicothe, with my mom (Kay http://mommakay.ringhiser.com), Dad (Harland), and sister (Kayla). We have three dogs of our own (Shadow, Comet, and Daisie), and each fall we get a new lab that we raise to be a seeing eye dog for the blind. This year her name was Delilah. We also have a cat that I rescued from our walls when I came home on boot leave named Buttercup.
In August 2006 I completed my training for the U.S. Marine Corps. I signed up in December of 2004, and started boot camp June 27th, 2005. Boot camp is a 13 week process designed to transform a person from a civilian into, in my case, a Marine. Well, just my luck I injured myself and prolonged my stay aboard the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina. On Dec. 2nd, I graduated, and finally left Parris Island. I then went to North Carolina for a three week course in Marine Combat Training. Well I made that three weeks into several months. But I finally got out of there on May 16th. But not before making some really bad decisions. Live and Learn I guess. I then moved on to 29 Palms CA for my MOS training as a Tactical Network Specialist. I graduated there on August 11, 2006 with the highest GPA of my class. I was then stationed at a Reserve Unit in Cincinnati, OH. I have been fortunate enough to go to Australia with the Marines in the summer of '07, and just recently (early 2010) returned from a deployment to Iraq. I attended college for two years at Miami University, in Oxford, OH, before financial problems prohibited me from finishing out my degree.
Before Joining the Marines I was very active in a lot of things happening at Trinity United Methodist Church. I have gone on two of the three missions trips our youth group participated in while there. In 2003 we went to North Carolina and in 2004 we went to Maine. You will find pictures of these trips here I haven't gotten all of them up yet. And to be honest, probably never will. But I'm working on them little by little.
Other than my Church I help out a lot with two spiritual weekends known as Chrysalis and Emmaus when I can. Chrysalis is a weekend for youth and Emmaus is for adults. I have also been through and helped out with a similar weekend known as Lamplighter.
I have been to many of the U.S. states and 5 other countries, England, France, Italy, Greece, and Australia. I hope to start putting pictures of those trip on here as well. But no promises on when that'll happen. I really need to get motivated one weekend and just spend the entire time doing nothing but uploading all of my old pictures.
